BINX and BINY values are not in FITS Header

Message par Dekelver Pieter-Jan »

Dear,

I came to the conclusion that there are no BINX and BINY values inside my FITS images. The fits header options boxes BINX and BINY are checked. FITS and FITS_1D

What can be the solution? Thank you.

Dear All,

Also: when i manual enter BINX and BINY headers inside the fits image, the values are not stored when for instance the images are subtracked with masters.
So i have to enter again BINX and BINY values inside these calibrated images.

Is there an update on this availeble? Of what is the problem?

Thank you very much.

Indeed the final explanation

If you check this box below BINX and BINY will not be in the FITS header
Image 032_bin.png
If you have 10µm pixel size and bin 2x2 this will be saved this way
1. BINX and BINY will not be in the FITS header
2. Fits will contain

Code : Tout sélectionner

XPIXELSZ=                20.00 /X pixel size microns
CDELTM1 =       0.020000000000 /Size of a pixel (x) in mm
XPIXSZ = 20.0 /X Binned pixel size as microns
Same for Y pixel size with YPIXELSZ,CDELTM2,YPIXSZ

If the option is uncheck ->

Code : Tout sélectionner

14 : XPIXELSZ=                10.00 /X pixel size microns
15 : CDELTM1 =       0.010000000000 /Size of a pixel (x) in mm
16 : XPIXSZ  =                 20.0 /X Binned pixel size as microns
17 : YPIXELSZ=                10.00 /Y pixel size microns
18 : CDELTM2 =       0.010000000000 /Size of a pixel (y) in mm
19 : YPIXSZ  =                 20.0 /X Binned pixel size as microns
20 : BINX    =                    2 /X binning
21 : BINY    =                    2 /Y binning

We are going to fall into the FITS nightmare, that has no stric definitions of XPIXELSZ,XPIXSZ and BINX
Unless someone proves me the contrary.
